A school trip to Sabah, Malaysian Borneo soon becomes the adventure of a lifetime as students explore the flood plains of the mighty Kinabatangan River. At 560km in length, this breathtaking river is the second longest in Borneo, playing host to a staggering number of species including the endangered orangutan, proboscis monkey, pygmy elephant and Sumatran Rhinoceros. With one of Borneo's highest concentrations of wildlife, the Kinabatangan provides an unrivalled opportunity for students to view some of the world's most unique animals and ecosystems.

As part of this Wild@Heart school trip, students get the chance to:

Collect behavioural data on orangutans at the world famous Sepilok Orangutan Rehabilitation Centre.
Visit the Rainforest Discovery Centre and get a spectacular view of the jungle from a 28m high canopy walkway!
Cruise the Kinabatangan River and spot some of the hundreds of exotic birds and animals found here.
Meet the Orang Sungai (River People) who call this area home.
Work at the village school teaching English or sharing a passion for conservation and the environment.
Replant the rain forest! Each school group given a dedicated patch of degraded land to reforest, thus helping to ensure a future for the elephants, orangutans and all other life along the river!

"These are wonderful experiences that I won't forget -planting trees, teaching the village children and especially listening to your knowledge of nature. Tomorrow is Monday and I will have to go to school again. I really miss the jungle, the iron wood tree, the fig tree that stood so grand and dignified compared to the awkward buildings in the city."
